Helloween, Straight Out of Hell (2013)

Hello all,

First, I want to apologize for not being as active with my posting. I will do better in the future, but today I have a treat for you. I will give a brief review of the latest effort from power metal group, Helloween titled Straight Out of Hell.

Helloween is one of the most influential bands in the history of metal. In their nearly 30 years of existence, they can be considered one of the standard bearers of power metal: a sub genre of heavy metal that combines elements of prog metal, speed, and melody. Their most important albums are The Keeper of the Seven Keys, Parts 1 & 2, but I'm a huge fan of their debut album, The Walls of Jericho. Their current sound (new album included) seem to have an edgier, darker element which is a nice progression.

Straight Out of Hell is their fourteenth studio album, and one of their best. Every song exemplifies power metal. Fast and heavy with melodic vocals. I have literally listened to this album at least four times since I purchased it last week.

While I love this album, it is definitely not for everyone.

Here is the first track, "Nabataea."

And "World of War."
