Today we are going to take a break from the top 100 countdown and look at the latest effort by Dragonforce.
Dragonforce is a British power metal band that is famous for their song "Through the Fire and Flames" used on Guitar Hero III. Their idiosyncratic sound is due to the uber-fast dual guitar work of Herman Li and Sam Totman, plus their lyrics are inspired by fantasy and quest games. On a side note, this is their first album with Marc Hudson on vocals.
Their latest effort, The Power Within, definitely follows the Dragonforce formula quite nicely, but new vocalist Marc Hudson improves the overall presentation by delivering more powerful and melodic vocals than his predecessor, ZP Theart.
If you like Dragonforce, then you will love this album. This may be there best effort yet!
